Systems Engineer 4 (Autonomous Systems Integration & Validation) (85773-1 1st shift) (85769-1 2nd shift)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Systems Engineer 4. The work will be done onsite full time in Tucson, AZ. This is a long-term, 24-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $62/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to support autonomous vehicle integration, testing, and validation activities in a proving-ground environment. This role focuses on developing and executing test plans, conducting on-machine testing, and analyzing data to ensure system performance and reliability. The engineer will troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues and collaborate closely with software development and operations teams. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong problem-solving skills and experience in complex systems or vehicle validation.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and maintain test and development plans for autonomous vehicle systems
• Execute on-machine testing and validation activities
• Analyze test data and document findings, issues, and recommendations
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software system issues
• Communicate results and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and software teams
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience in control systems, vehicle systems, or autonomous technologies
• 5–7 years of relevant engineering, testing, or validation experience (less experience accepted with a master’s degree)
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex systems
• Proficiency with Windows-based operating systems
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate technical information clearly
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with autonomous systems (perception, planning, positioning, or controls)
• Familiarity with Linux or Ubuntu operating systems
• Experience with test planning, documentation, and data analysis
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Background in vehicle, equipment, or system test and validation environments
