Job Description


Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Quality Engineer 4. The work will be done onsite at our client’s facility in Lafayette, IN (Building B). This is a long-term position (24 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is $53/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support process readiness, quality planning, and risk mitigation for large engine manufacturing operations. This position will focus on developing and facilitating Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation, including process FMEAs, control plans, and process flow diagrams. The role plays a key part in ensuring production quality and process capability as part of major capital investment and capacity expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and facilitate new elements of APQP, including process FMEAs, control plans, and process flow diagrams.
• Lead quality readiness meetings with manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Support and track recommended actions from process FMEAs and capability studies.
• Review and develop process capability studies and measurement systems analyses.
• Create final production part approval documentation (PPAP) and present updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure all new capital programs meet quality and validation standards.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
• 8–10 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to facilitate and create all APQP elements (Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA).
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in the automotive or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with large capital investment projects and production quality systems.
