Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Project Engineer 3 in East Peoria, IL. The work will be done onsite, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $59/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Project Engineer 3 will serve as a key point of contact between engineering, purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, and product support teams to manage the supply chain impact of Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects. This position will coordinate component phase-in/phase-out activities across worldwide facilities, helping achieve the earliest possible CPI implementation while minimizing scrap, rework, and supply disruptions. The role will support drivetrain systems and components while providing project visibility, managing material and inventory requirements, and identifying opportunities to improve supply chain processes and tools.

The role will support drivetrain systems and components while providing project visibility, managing material and inventory requirements, and identifying opportunities to improve supply chain processes and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage supply chain activities associated with pending and active CPI projects and provide visibility into their impact across the value chain.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, and project teams to coordinate component phase-in/phase-out activities across multiple global facilities.
- Track and communicate CPI effectivity dates, expected scrap, component effectivity, and machine serial number effectivity.
- Manage service-related inventory requirements and work with purchasing, service engineering, product support, and depot teams to resolve material and supply issues.
- Create, facilitate, and manage Part Stocking Requests (ISR/PSR) in collaboration with product support.
- Consolidate project reporting, metrics, and visualizations to provide stakeholders with clear visibility into project and supply chain status.
- Work with depot purchasing teams and internal/external suppliers to optimize regular and expedited transportation of material to dealers and customers.
- Serve as a Supply Chain SME, advising project teams and Black Belts on strategies to minimize value-chain disruptions.
- Identify and implement process and tool improvements that increase supply chain and project-management effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional-level experience in project management, supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, processes, terminology, and material flow.
- Demonstrated project management and team leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple functions and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn and perform quality and supply chain analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, risk, ambiguity, and changing project requirements.
- Experience working across functions such as Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations.
- Experience coordinating engineering changes, continuous product improvement initiatives, component transitions, or phase-in/phase-out activities.
- Knowledge of inventory management, material planning, purchasing, product support, and supplier coordination.
- Experience supporting complex manufacturing, drivetrain, automotive, off-highway, industrial equipment, or similarly engineered products.
- Strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across an organization.
- Experience creating project reports, dashboards, metrics, or visualizations for cross-functional stakeholders.
