Job Description
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 4. The work will be done onsite in Mossville, Illinois. This is a 12-month long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $53/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the development, validation, and lifecycle management of electrification components and mechanical systems. This role will lead engineering projects involving supplier collaboration, product quality, new product introduction, and aftermarket solutions while supporting production and supply chain initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-directed engineer with strong project leadership skills who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects involving mechanical and electrification components from requirements through validation and production support.
- Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing, testing, and product support teams to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), APQP activities, supplier development, and production robustness initiatives.
- Evaluate engineering solutions by balancing cost, quality, manufacturability, and project timelines.
- Develop engineering documentation, technical reports, and recommendations while providing leadership across cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience (Master's degree with 6+ years or Associate degree with 12+ years also considered).
- Strong experience leading engineering projects in manufacturing or product development environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, project leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience using engineering software and CAD tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams and Excel.
- Experience with electrification systems, electric machines, or electric powertrain components.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and sourcing activities.
- Knowledge of APQP, quality processes, and risk management methodologies.
- Experience supporting new product development, validation, and production launch activities.
- Experience with physical testing and virtual product development.
- Background in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or large-scale manufacturing environments preferred.
