Mechanical Engineer 3 (86026-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite full-time in Lafayette, IN. This is a long-term, 24-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is $41/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and analysis of mechanical systems and components. This role focuses on researching product functionality, supporting new product introduction programs, investigating equipment performance issues, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to support product development, warranty analysis, and testing activities. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, design, develop, and test mechanical tools, engines, machines, and systems
• Analyze design proposals, specifications, and technical documentation for feasibility, cost, and schedule
• Investigate equipment failures and performance issues and recommend corrective actions
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and continuous product improvement initiatives
• Assist drafters and engineers in developing mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related discipline
• 4+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience
• Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints
• Experience with CAD tools and engineering software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with engines, automotive, agricultural, or industrial equipment
• Experience supporting NPI programs and warranty or root cause analysis
• Familiarity with GD&T and manufacturing processes
