Mechanical Engineer 2 (93302-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer 2 will support lab testing and evaluation of electric drive components and systems, focusing on performance, durability, and failure analysis. This role involves hands-on investigation of mechanical and electrical systems, including root cause analysis of component failures. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and gain exposure to electrification technologies. This position offers a strong opportunity for skill development in motor and generator systems within a lab-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct lab testing on electric drive components, including performance and durability evaluations
• Perform detailed inspections and root cause analysis on motor and generator failures
• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Support product development by assisting with design validation and testing processes
• Collaborate with engineering teams and contribute to documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural Engineering, or related field
• 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with CAD software and engineering design tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with electrical testing, product development, or failure analysis
• Exposure to electric drive systems, motors, or generators
• Experience working in lab or testing environments
