Mechanical Drafter 3 (85289-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Drafter 3. The work will be done onsite full-time in Mossville, IL. This is a 12-month position with potential to lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is approximately $35/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Drafter to provide detailed modeling and design support for engineering teams working on complex mechanical systems. This role focuses on creating and modifying precise drawings and 3D models for exhaust and emissions-related components across multiple product applications. The drafter will collaborate closely with design engineers to ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing, and quality standards. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong CAD skills and hands-on mechanical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using CAD tools
• Create and revise 3D models and drawings based on engineer guidance
• Lay out schematic, orthographic, and assembly views to depict functional relationships
• Modify designs to resolve operating issues or reduce production challenges
• Collaborate daily with engineers and cross-functional team members to support ongoing projects
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required (engineering degree preferred, not required)
• 5–7 years of experience in mechanical drafting or design support
• Strong experience with Creo and Teamcenter
• Knowledge of GD&T, engineering standards, and mechanical design principles
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with stainless steel sheet metal design, fabrication, and welding
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience
• Familiarity with diesel or gas aftertreatment systems
