Job Description
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite in Mossville, Illinois. This is a 12-month long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $40/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will support engine manufacturing and testing operations by improving production processes, developing standard work, and designing tooling for engine assembly and disassembly. This role combines office-based engineering with hands-on support in a laboratory environment, working closely with mechanics, technicians, and production personnel to optimize manufacturing efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated engineer with strong communication skills, experience in manufacturing processes, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop practical production solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement standard work to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
- Design and support tooling for engine assembly and disassembly operations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to support manufacturing activities.
- Analyze production workflows, material handling, machine utilization, and quality data to improve manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with engineers, mechanics, technicians, and production teams to support engine builds and testing activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline (Associate's degree with significant relevant experience will also be considered).
- Approximately 3–5 years of manufacturing or engine-related experience; internship experience may be considered.
- Experience creating standard work and supporting tooling design.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using CAD software and other engineering applications.
- Experience supporting engine manufacturing, engine testing, or similar production environments.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Tooling design experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting heavy equipment, diesel engines, or industrial manufacturing operations.
