Electrical Engineer 5 (85949-1)
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer 5. The work will be done onsite, full-time in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term, 12-month position with strong potential to lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is approximately $68.38/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, simulation, and evaluation of advanced electrical systems. This role focuses on high-power electric drive systems, including motors, converters, batteries, and electrified machine platforms. The engineer will contribute to system modeling, performance assessments, and technical reporting in support of electrification initiatives. This position is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys hands-on analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and solving complex power conversion challenges.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and evaluate electrical equipment and systems, including motors, converters, batteries, wiring, and controls
• Create and maintain component-level and system-level simulation models for performance and system studies
• Perform power conversion, cycle evaluation, dynamic analysis, and cost assessments
• Review designs for reliability, safety, and cost effectiveness
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal teams and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 10+ years of professional engineering experience (internships accepted)
• Strong background in power conversion, electric drives, motors, and battery systems
• Experience with electrical system simulation and modeling tools
• Proficiency in engineering documentation, calculations, and technical presentations
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Thermal systems knowledge related to high-power electrical components
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills
