Job Description

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $47/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support legacy electronics systems engineering and product sustainment initiatives. This role focuses on component lifecycle management, obsolescence mitigation, engineering change execution, and validation support for electronic control systems and hardware platforms. The engineer will work closely with suppliers, validation teams, manufacturing partners, and cross-functional engineering groups to ensure long-term product reliability, compliance, and continuity. This position offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to electronic systems, product lifecycle management, and global engineering collaboration while supporting critical legacy product platforms.

Key Responsibilities
• Execute component and system-level sustainment projects for legacy electronic products and hardware platforms
• Assess component obsolescence risks, supplier discontinuations, and long lead-time part availability issues
• Support engineering change activities including documentation updates, BOM revisions, design reviews, and technical approvals
• Coordinate component and system validation activities including EMC, vibration, environmental, and functional testing
• Analyze test results and provide recommendations supporting sustainment, redesign, or replacement decisions
• Collaborate with suppliers, quality teams, manufacturing, supply chain, and global engineering organizations to resolve technical issues
• Support regulatory compliance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes and data quality

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a Master’s degree
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and electronic hardware systems
• Knowledge of component obsolescence management, lifecycle planning, and product sustainment activities
• Understanding of electronic systems, engineering documentation, and validation processes
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and global engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting electronic control modules, display systems, telematics products, or related electronic hardware
• Familiarity with validation testing, laboratory coordination, and engineering change management processes
• Experience working with suppliers on component lifecycle and continuity planning
• Knowledge of EMC, environmental, vibration, and functional testing methods
• Experience working in manufacturing, industrial equipment, automotive, or heavy equipment environments
• Familiarity with Agile project execution and engineering development processes
