Notice of Filing Application for Labor Certification
Position: Design Engineer
Duties Include: The Design Engineer will apply the principles of mechanical engineering, computer science, and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software systems used in the engineering design process of the client’s manufactured construction equipment. Specific job duties include: (i) Modify existing databases and database management systems to meet user needs to support product engineering team; (ii) Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions; (iii) Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations; (iv) Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project; (v) Research new materials and competitive products which includes the organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes; (vi) Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance; (vii) Oversee the efforts of drafting and testing specialists; (viii) Develop and document functional requirements and translating into detail design documents, including participation in buy-build analysis for product components; and (ix) Participate in and support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports; (ix) support industrial design efforts by employing lean manufacturing concepts, implementing advanced product quality planning (APQP) principles, including Six Sigma. Support product design and development using Creo-Parametric software; coordinate and manage teams throughout design process using Teamcenter PLM software, and SAP and Windchill for data management and systems engineering lifecycle integration. Perform other duties as dictated by specific projects.
Requires: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software engineering or related field, or foreign equivalent. Requires twenty-four months of prior work experience as a design engineer, industrial engineer, computer engineer, or related field, and such experience must include: experience with Creo-Parametric Software, Project Management, Product Lifecycle Management Software programs SAP and Windchill; experience implementing Advanced Product Quality Planning principles (APQP), system engineering and six sigma tools for design optimization. Must be willing to relocate to unanticipated client site across the U.S. Current placement is in Chillicothe, IL.
