Job Description
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Data Scientist 1. The work will be done onsite full-time in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $42/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Data Scientist to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling initiatives focused on equipment and engine performance. This role will work with large volumes of telematics and product data to develop analytical models, machine learning algorithms, and digital tools that improve reliability, durability, and operational efficiency. The engineer will collaborate with global teams to develop data mining processes, create dashboards, and deliver actionable insights that support product development and customer solutions. This position offers excellent exposure to machine learning, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and condition monitoring technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement predictive and prescriptive analytics models using telematics and product data
• Build machine learning algorithms and AI-based solutions for equipment and engine health monitoring
• Create data mining processes for data collection, aggregation, feature extraction, and analytics modeling
• Develop dashboards and data visualization tools using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
• Support reliability and durability forecasting initiatives through advanced statistical analysis
• Collaborate with global engineering and analytics teams to execute data science projects and present findings to stakeholders
• Support enhancements to digital tools and participate in Agile and DevOps development processes
• Research and apply new analytics techniques, machine learning approaches, and algorithmic solutions to solve business challenges
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline
• 1–2 years of relevant experience; internship experience is accepted
• Experience with Python, SQL, MATLAB, or similar programming languages
• Experience with cloud computing technologies and database systems
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence concepts
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree with internship or project experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning
• Experience working with telematics, IoT, or connected equipment data
• Knowledge of reliability, durability, or condition-monitoring analytics
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud computing platforms
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
• Basic understanding of engine systems, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment preferred
