Job Description

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Data Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in Peoria, IL. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $58/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Data Engineer to support enterprise analytics and business intelligence initiatives within a highly visible technical information and services organization. This role will focus on developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions, designing and supporting data pipelines, and ensuring the integrity and accessibility of critical business data. The engineer will work closely with business stakeholders and analytics teams to deliver dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and scalable data architectures that support strategic decision-making. This position offers exposure to large-scale analytics systems serving hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
• Design, build, and support SQL databases, ETL processes, and data pipelines
• Perform data validation, testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities
• Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and develop analytics solutions
• Create automated reporting processes and data visualization tools
• Support database architecture, data integration, and data warehouse initiatives
• Develop technical documentation, data models, and reporting standards
• Work independently and collaboratively to deliver projects that meet business objectives and deadlines

Required Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2–4 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, database development, or analytics
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms
• Experience designing and supporting ETL processes and data pipelines
• Experience with database and data warehouse environments such as Snowflake, Azure, Oracle, DB2, or PostgreSQL
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Python programming
• Experience with UX/UI principles and data visualization best practices
• Technical writing and documentation experience
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale analytics and reporting solutions
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture concepts
• Experience working with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
